Sometimes, architects can use in their projects surprising materials. Examples are the designers of the Rotterdam office 2012Architecten, who designed a pavilion … from kitchen sinks.

Every architect is part artist, part craftsman. Sometimes, however, some designers are overridden by this artistic side of the soul, which resulted in fancy places, using unusual materials. This group certainly includes architects from Rotterdam studio 2012Architecten who draft the Recycloop gave vent to his creative imagination.

The Recycloop is the name of the portable skybox, whose facade of an unused kitchen sinks. The object was first presented at the XXII edition of the festival Art Festival a / d Werf in Utrecht. His next incarnation could be seen then in Vlaardingen, a typical roof, blue seat organization Het Blauwe Huis in Amsterdam. Everywhere was used as a space for cultural events, and for storing rainwater.

The Recycloop is not merely manifest postindustrial oriented architects. It is also one of the better examples of the use of architectural materials, which only seemed to construction have nothing in common, and which, thanks to the artistic side of the soul of architecture, can transform a surprising projects.

The nine-story building is designed by Japanese architect Sako Keiichiro. Building resulting in China, will have the most windows of all the objects of this size in the world – nearly a thousand! Local newspaper calculated that, on the top floor of the 113 windows in 15 rooms. In addition, none of them is a rectangle: rooms intersect by corridors, and there are small gardens on each floor.

“It is a labyrinth” – says one of the workers employed in the construction. The building will be completed in summer. According to a similar project will produce a two-story hotel. The total cost of an office building is 8.5 million dollars. The windows cost more than 700 thousand.

Today something polish;) . Projekt 2000 Company P2K was founded in 2000. The company offers complex architectural services: projects of detched houses, public and commercial buildings and housing estates.

We have many years’ experience in the interior design for private clients (apartments, detached houses) and in arranging office space for public institutions and companies …
Since 2006 we have performed technical projects of commercial spaces like restaurants, clubs and private clinics.
Realized projects are supervised by the subject matter experts and accepted by Sanitary and Epidemological Authority as well as Fire Inspectors.
We are preparing detailed analyzes of commercial terrains.

I don´t really like all of their projects, some of them look a bit chaffy as for my taste. I will show you the one I like, located in Poland – Mazury, really beautiful region.

Today I wanted to present you something perfect for people which like to go with the drift of the water . Some days ago I so other houseboat on the blog of my brother minty.pl and I really liked it.

Niall McLaughlin Architects designed this fabulous modern houseboat for two as part of a Swedish design competition. It´s located in London. Small in size but big on innovation, this unique floating home was born from three key considerations – light, space and construction.

Our interests are light, space and construction. Our aim, to design a house which has a spatial quality which we describe as a ‘thicket’. Implicit in this is the idea that the enclosure is experienced as a congruence of lines rather than as a clearing defined by surfaces. The thicket suggested an intertwining of lines which led us to an interest in the process of weaving.

The Houseboat is a basket of woven carbon-fibre, containing inflatable elements at high and low levels. The lower range is for flotation. The translucent upper range forms the roof of the structure; the trapped argon gas is an integral part of the insulation of the house.

By combining inflatable and woven elements, within the depth of the construction of the houseboat, we extend the concept of interdependence between contained and container. The container and the contents rely on each other for stability.

In winter, the tiny amount of solar electricity is not needed for cooling. It is directed into the argon inflatable roof elements, which work like very low powered fluorescent fittings, glowing gently through the long winter nights.

The atmosphere of this house is deliberately northern. At the heart of our project is the delight of hiding in a hedge. There is no horizon or vista. Instead the world is experienced as tiny shifting fragments perceived through a maze of line. Light is dappled and shifting. The spatial sense is one of immersion in the dense substance of the house.

Have your little house and take it with you wherever … Project Office OLGGA proposes mobile wood-glass house, that without much problem can be transported anywhere.
I like the idea, this way you can stay in fantastic places. I would place it somewhere in the forest or on the beach in a silent place .

The French lab OLGGA designed the mobile home cabin called Flake House. This is an example of good design in a small scale. This innovative, nomadic house was built, that it can be easily transported from one place to another. The design does not belong to the complex, made up mainly of two parts.

It is a combination of trends in low-tech and hi-tech. From the outside it looks like rustical object, the traditional house form cut in two halfs. Two walls are glass, two-lined timber. Interiors minimalist, simple, clearly contrasting with the exterior structure.
Micro-scale architecture that could disappear at any time, change the owner, the location is becoming increasingly popular. Fits perfectly to the phenomenon of mobility in contemporary societies, in the race and the instability of our times.

Time to have a look at Japanese architecture pearls .

Architecture of nowadays gets many times to monumental. That´s why I wanted to show you how beautiful simplicity can be.

The idea that ‘less is more’ is ingrained in the Japanese mind and has its roots in Zen thought. It´s one of the basic ingrendients in the Japanese architecture as well.

Parabola House is a family home in Tokyo designed by Japanese architect Yasuhiro Yamashita of Atelier Tekuto. The building is 5 meters wide and 27 meters in length, due to the needs of the long and narrow area where it is located. The concrete and glass are the main materials with which these forms have been achieved and overhangs that give the impression of floating in the air.I really like it, hope you´ll enjoy it too!

Other Japanese modern home which I want to show you is the Engawa House in Tokyo by Tezuka Architects. It is a long and narrow house which becomes like a porch after sliding the 16 meters glass panel doors, opening up that whole side of the house. A curtain runs across that side, for privacy. This compact house design combines modern amenities with true minimal aesthetics by implementing wooden storage cabinets across the back wall of the kitchen area, while the kitchen itself is stainless steel.

Another laureate of Prizker Prize, this time from 2008.

Fantastic architect. I knew that I´ve seen some of his works… and guess what…Sure!!! Museum of Reina Sofia in Madrid is one of his projects, another one I´ve seen in Luzerne. Both very integrated with the surrounding.Sort of symbiosis.

Ones he said:

“The wind, the color of the sky, the trees around — the building is not done only to be the most beautiful,” “It’s done to give advantage to the surroundings. It’s a dialogue.”

This great architect has done so many fantastic works that I have a very big problem what to show you. I´ll exhibit a bit of what I´ve seen, so Reina Sofia Museum and Luzerne Concert Hall and a bit of the nominated ones.

After a long break I want to share with you one more project of Herzog & de Meuron. I thinks it´s really worth seeing!!!!

CaixaForum Madrid is a post-modern art gallery in the centre of Madrid, Spain. It is sponsored by the Catalan bank la Caixa and located next to the Paseo del Prado at number 36, next to many great museums.

It was constructed by the Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron from 2001 to 2007, which combined an old unused industrial building and hollowed it out at the base and inside and placed on top further floors which are encased with rusted steel.

The building looks like sustained in the air, surrounded by little artificial water falls, really impressing.

Next to it is an art installation of green plants growing on the wall of the neighbouring house called “vertical garden”, project of Patrick Blanc.

All together, the building and the garden of the wall next to it make a great contrast.

CaixaForum has evolved into one of the most visited museums in Madrid.

The pages of these designers in Phoenix Arizona I found thanks too Sosnowski project. It looked somehow familiar too me, so I checked http://www.chensuchartstudio.com/ and I actually found there another project called Dillon which I found very interesting. Here, they used similar elements as in Dominus Winery ,stone walls, but it consists of other interesting items as well. Any way, look it up yourselves!
